Medicare

Medicare does not reimburse for Wheelchair Coach Transportation

Medicare does not reimburse for trips to or from Physician's Offices

Medicaid

Unless the person to be transported is a nursing home resident, or being transported from a hospital to a nursing/convalescent center, then PRIOR AUTHORIZATION is required.

If the person to be transported has had a PRIOR AUTHORIZATION with another transportation company, then he/she must write a letter to Medicaid requesting to be transported in the future by SENIOR and include a good explanation why such a request is being made.  Speak with our Intake/Dispatch personnel for more information and assistance.

If PRIOR AUTHORIZATION is needed, it can take two weeks to receive from Medicaid.  Be sure to call Intake/Dispatch early enough to insure that you will have transportation on the date you need it.

You may have ridden with a company for some time, but if you have not ridden in the last three months with them, you may no longer have authorization from Medicaid.  Be sure to check your Authorization when making your appointment with Intake/Dispatch.
